Della Cole

Della Mae Cole, age 85, of Chester passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026.

She was loved by many and will be dearly missed. Della Cole lived 85 years, years marked not by ease, but by endurance. Life brought challenges, transitions, and seasons of loss, yet Della remained. She pressed on.

In the early morning hours of January 14, 2026, at 2:55 a.m., at Glen Eagle Nursing Home in Abbeville, Georgia, the Lord gently called Della home. Her earthly labor came to an end, and her rest began. God’s Word assures us: “Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord… they will rest from their labor.” (Revelation 14:13)

Della was a mother, a family member, and a part of the lives of many who loved her deeply—especially her immediate family: Sons, Cecil Thorn, Danny Cole, grandchildren, Alicia Insua, Anthony Thorn, Leslie Cole, Nikki Sanders, and Jesse Cole. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Marshall Whinery, Lona Cole Whinery, husband, Jack Cole Jr., daughter, Darlena Dunn.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
